elkhartpolice.org
Elkhart Police Department officers have two individuals in custody in connection with a robbery, around 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 14, at the  Fifth Third Bank branch at 400 N Main Street.
A caller to 911 reported that two unknown male subjects entered the bank and demanded money. After the employee complied, the male subjects left the scene in a vehicle before the officer’s arrival. The male subjects did not display any weapons during the incident, and no injuries were reported.

Officers identified a second potential suspect vehicle and followed that vehicle to a car wash at 111 Middleton Road shortly before noon. Two male subjects fled on foot from that vehicle, resisting officer commands to stop. Both males were detained nearby shortly thereafter, and taken into custody without further incident.

The two adult male suspects were arrested on preliminary charges of Robbery and Resisting Law Enforcement, and transported to the Elkhart County Jail. These arrests will be forwarded to the Elkhart County Prosecutor’s Office for review of formal criminal charges.
Anybody with information regarding the investigation is asked to contact the Elkhart Police Department at 574-295-7070 or Michiana Crime Stoppers at 574-288-STOP.
