The Salvation Army of Elkhart is inviting senior citizens to its Senior Care Day on Wednesday.

From 10 a.m. until 1 p.m., seniors can visit The Salvation Army for free personal care services from local vendors and agencies, including blood pressure checks, professional haircuts and nail care, and cardio drumming.

Special presentations will be given, and tables for the Elkhart County Health Department, SHIP and more will be ready to provide resources.

Signups for the Senior Citizen Shoe Giveaway will also happen during the event, where the first 90 eligible registrants age 55-and-up will receive a $30 gift card to be used for a new pair of shoes at the Shoe Carnival of Elkhart.

Those applying must provide a government-issued ID and proof of living in the northern half of Elkhart or LaGrange County. The event is entirely free to attend.
