A Goshen man has been sentenced to five-and-a-half years after pleading guilty to a magic mushroom operation.
A press release said the Elkhart officials began the investigation after receiving information from Kent Area Narcotics Enforcement Team in Michigan about someone with a psilocybin mushroom lab in Goshen.
According to The Goshen News, officers said they found over 14,000 grams of psilocybin mushrooms, 50 packages of THC candy, over 4,700 grabs of candy bars containing psilocybin and several glass jars with waxlike substances.
A press release stated that it is the second largescale psilocybin mushroom operation the ICE unit has dismantled in the last year.
34-year-old Mason Bails was sentenced by plea to 1.5 years for dealing in a Schedule I Controlled Substance and four yearsto be served on alternative placement through Michiana Community Corrections.
