UConn defeats Purdue in NCAA Men’s basketball championship game

The Purdue Boilermakers season comes to in end in the NCAA Men’s basketball Tournament resulting in a disappointing loss to the UConn Huskies 75-60, giving UConn back-to-back championships, the first team to repeat in 17 years.

The game started back and forth between the two teams as the Huskies pulled out a decent lead of 36-30 going into halftime.

Then on out, UConn continued to increase the lead with outstanding offense and not allowing Purdue to get within single-digit points.

The recently named Naismith Player of the Year, Zach Edey was the lead scorer for the Boilermakers resulting in a double-double with 37 points and 10 rebounds.

Braden Smith was the only other player for Purdue to score in double-digits with 12.

The Boilermakers end their season with a 34-5 record.
