There’s been a new development in the 1989 Prom Night Murders case in Lakeville.
Jeff Pelley has been denied a retrial. He was convicted of killing his father, stepmother, and two of his sisters with a shotgun so he could go to the prom.
He was convicted in 2006 for the 1989 slayings, and has maintained his innocence for more than 30 years.
Pelley and his defense team claim his trial was unfair, including ineffective counsel, mishandled evidence, and a lack of evidence tying him to the murders.
Pelley is currently serving a 160-year sentence for the four counts of murder.
