A man from Niles who sent a inappropriate photo to a minor has been given probation in Berrien County Trial Court. The incident happened in August 2023 in Niles Township.
Karl George Smith II, aged 25, from Niles, admitted to sharing explicit materials with children and was sentenced to five years of probation.
According to Leader Publications, he has to register as a sex offender for 15 years, wear a monitoring device for 90 days, and pay over $650 in fines and costs.
He’s also prohibited from living near schools or parks.
