Man jailed after identifying himself as his brother

A man was jailed after identifying himself as his brother, who was wanted by police.
LaPorte County Sheriff’s deputies were called around 8 p.m. on Tuesday, May 21, to the area of Lakeshore Drive and Hudson Boulevard regaring a a disturbance.
After arriving in the area, they located a vehicle similar to the provided description parked at Hudson Beach. A man identified himself as 43-year-old Joseph Miller, not not once, but twice, and provided a date of birth.
A computer check determined miller was a wanted person by Marion County authorities for theft and criminal trespass.  He was taken into custody and not till then did his true identity come to light.
44-year-old Mark Luzar of Flat Rock, Indiana was arrested for False Identity. He’s now out on bond
As for Miller, anybody with information about his whereabouts should contact the Fugitive Apprehension Street Team (219-608-9572) or Michiana Crime Stoppers (800-322-7867).
