South Bend Farmer’s Market to commemorate 100th anniversary with outdoor mural

The South Bend Farmer’s Market will commemorate their upcoming 100th Anniversary with a large-scale outdoor mural, with work starting Saturday, May 25th continuing through the first week of June.
The public is invited to witness and discuss the process with muralists Alex Ann Allen and Lauren Steinhofer on Saturday from approximately 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. while they begin painting.
The mural will be located on the entire west end of the Market’s building at 1105 Northside Blvd., South Bend.
The mural is being made possible through funding from Visit South Bend Mishawaka and the City of South Bend’s Vibrant Places Matching Grant Program.
The South Bend Farmers Market was incorporated in 1924 and offer offer the same benefits to the community as it did at the beginning: fresh, home-grown produce (fruits and vegetables), dairy products, meats, poultry, eggs, maple syrup, jams, jellies, flowers, handcrafts, artwork, jewelry, gift items and many more unique items.
The Market is open Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8-2 and on Saturdays from 7 a.m. – 3 p.m.
The South Bend Farmer’s Market is a South Bend landmark that is proud of its history.  On July 20, 2024, the Market invites everyone in the community to its 100th Birthday Party from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
