Two people were hurt in a fiery car crash in Cass County.
The collision happened around 11:15 p.m. on Thursday, May 23, at Pokagon Hwy and Dailey Rd. in  LaGrange Township.
The sheriff’s investigation showed a vehicle traveling north on Dailey Rd failed to yield to oncoming traffic on Pokagon Hwy.
The second vehicle was traveling east on Pokagon Hwy and crashed into the northbound vehicle.
Both vehicles left the roadway on the southeast side of Pokagon Hwy and crashed into a utility pole. An active power line covered the vehicle that was traveling north, and caused it to start on fire.
The vehicle had two occupants, and both were able to remove themselves from the vehicle, where deputies attempted life saving measures until medical personnel arrived.
The passenger was taken to South Bend Memorial Hospital and the driver went to Borgess Lee Hospital. From Borgess Lee, medical personnel arranged to fly the driver to University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor.
The occupants of the vehicle traveling on Pokagon Hwy did not suffer any serious injuries.
