The grand opening and dedication of the new Veterans Walkway Memorial in the Battell Park Veterans Memorial Plaza is set for this weekend.

The walkway will stretch west from the Soldiers and Sailors Monument with the memorial featuring an eternal flame.

The flame symbolizes everlasting gratitude and respect and signifies the continuous acknowledgement of our veterans’ courage and dedication. Mayor Dave Wood will lead the ceremony, dedicating it in honor of veterans.

The grand opening is set for May 25 at 9 a.m.
