It wasn’t a crime, after all.
A 78-year-old woman had contacted Goshen Police earlier this year to report her father’s bronze veteran’s memorial plaque stolen from Violet Cemetery.
The woman called Yoder Culp Funeral Home to file a claim.
Now, it turns ouy the plaque had not only sunk in, but it was covered under several inches of dirt and debris, so no theft actually occurred.
