Attempted abduction of two children near Emmons School in Mishawaka

(Jon Zimney/95.3 MNC)

Mishawaka Police are spreading the word about the attempted abduction of two children walking home from school.

The two students from Emmons School, ages 10 and 11, a brother and sister, were walking to the home on West Ninth Street.
At some point during the walk, a black SUV “boxy style” stopped, and the passenger asked if they wanted a ride.   The children refused.
They said the SUV started to follow and at one point the passenger, a male white 20-30 black hair, clean shaven, wearing a black shirt and blue shorts got out and started to chase them.  The SUV has a scratch on the driver’s side, and on the window of the driver’s door.  There was no description of the driver as the children did/could not see that person.
The children altered their route via alleys and different streets and made it safely to their grandmother’s house.  The grandmother called the police.
