Niles man headed to prison for extortion, criminal sexual conduct

A 36-year-old Niles man is headed to prison for actions against an underage girl.

Richard Tindall pleaded guilty to extortion and second-degree criminal sexual conduct after reportedly inappropriately touching an underage girl and extorting her with inappropriate photos.

He was sentenced to concurrent terms of 10 years to 20 years and 86 months to 15 years. According to Leader Publications, he must also register as a sex offender.

Incidents reportedly began in January 2019 and are said to have involved inappropriate touching and threatening the victim when he got ahold of pictures taken by someone else.
