South Bend’s Ice Box prepares groundbreaking for third rink

The groundbreaking for the third rink expansion at South Bend’s Ice Box is planned for 11:30 a.m. on July 11, indoors on the ice. The $12 million expansion comes just in time for the 50th anniversary of the popular skating rink on South Walnut Street, which plays host to area hockey teams, and more.

Attending the event will be Mayor James Mueller, members of the Ice Box Board, South Bend Regional Chamber President Jeff Rea, and others.
