One man killed, another injured in Elkhart shooting

One man was killed and another was injured in a shooting in Elkhart.

It was just before 11 p.m. on Saturday, July 20, when police got a call about a shooting in the 300 block of West Cleveland Avenue.

Upon arrival in the area, officers saw a man with an apparent gunshot wound(s).

Despite life-saving efforts, the man died at the scene.

A second man also sustained an apparent gunshot wound(s) and was taken to the hospital for evaluation and treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

The Elkhart County Homicide Unit was activated and took over the investigation.
