Two people arrested after police pursuit on U.S. 20 in LaPorte County

Indiana State Police say two people have been arrested following a chase Friday evening.

According to ISP, officers tried to stop 19-year-old Roberto Valencuela for speeding on U.S. 20 near County Road 400 East, but he drove away instead.

The chase eventually ended after he hit stop sticks near mile-marker 19 on I-94.

He was arrested and taken to the LaPorte County Jail, where he is facing charges for crimes including Dealing a Schedule IV Substance and Possession of a Machine Gun.

An 18-year-old girl, identified as Angela Rodriguez, was also in the car at the time.

She is now facing charges for crimes including Dealing a Schedule IV Substance and Possession of Marijuana.
