It’s another step forward for a highway garage that will be built in Granger.
St. Joseph County Commissioners have approved R. Yoder Construction for phase one of the project.
The garage will be at the end of Alexander Drive off Bittersweet Road. Phase one includes building a salt barn, expected to be ready by the end of fall.
Phase two involves constructing a garage for storing highway vehicles during winter.
WSBT reports the move follows opposition to a proposed garage near Anderson Road and Beech Road.
