Man, 22, shot and killed in Benton Township

A 22-year-old Benton Harbor man was fatally shot the intersection of Broadway and Emery.

The incident occurred around 2 a.m. on Sunday, Sep. 8, during a large party attended by hundreds of people. Police, who had been dispatched to the area in response to the gathering, reported hearing gunshots coming from a nearby field.

Upon arriving at the scene, officers discovered the victim with multiple gunshot wounds to the chest. Despite immediate life-saving efforts, the man was pronounced dead at the hospital.
