Indiana just made the cut for one of the top ten best states for teachers, according to a study by finance web site WalletHub.

WalletHub considered all 50 states and the District of Columbia against 24 different metrics, including teacher salary increases, public school funding, and teacher to student ratios.

Indiana barely made the top ten for best states, coming in at number ten. Despite the generous listing from WalletHub, Democratic nominee for Indiana governor and former Superintendent of Public Instruction Jennifer McCormick has consistently stated that the Hoosier State falls behind the rest of the country when it comes to the overall outlook of education.

McCormick, along with lieutenant governor nominee Terry Goodin, recently released what they call the “Commonsense Education Plan”, which called for more public school funding and increased teacher salaries, among other things.
