Lane restrictions to begin as NIPSCO makes repairs on McKinley Highway

(Photo supplied/NIPSCO)
NIPSCO will repair concrete issues on the south side of McKinley Highway caused by earlier utility work.
Starting Wednesday, Sep. 18, lane restrictions will be in place:
  • Both eastbound lanes of McKinley Highway, from about 800 feet east of Russell Industrial Parkway to Coyle Court, will be closed.
  • Eastbound traffic will use the center left-turn lane.
  • No left turns will be allowed onto Evergreen Plaza Drive. Access to Evergreen Plaza and Dogwood Road will only be possible via right turns from the westbound lane.
  • This also applies to other properties on the north side of McKinley Highway within the restricted zone.
The project is expected to last until mid to late October.
Drivers should be aware of Fire Station 13 near the end of the restricted area, where emergency vehicles may enter traffic. Use caution, reduce speed, and be patient in the construction zone.
