Buchanan man facing up to five years for seventh drunk driving incident

A Buchanan man with a history of drinking and driving is headed back to prison.

58-year-old Richard Lee Chapman pleaded guilty to third offense drunk driving and was sentenced to 20 months to five years in prison as well as $198 in fines and costs.

The incident happened in June, making it Chapman’s seventh drunk driving conviction.

According to Leader Publications, Chapman had just been released from parole for another prison sentence in November last year.
