It’s about three years in prison for a man accused of meth possession.

Elkhart Police were called to Morton Avenue in August for a person needing medical assistance.

Medics arrived to find Angel Cortes who was not being cooperative and was slighting incoherent.

Cortes eventually exited the vehicle and was taken to Elkhart General Hospital for medical evaluation, and a search of his vehicle turned up a loaded Glock, two glass pipes, a large amount of cash in a wallet with someone else’s name on the ID, two fake Social Security cards, a napkin with meth wrapped inside it as well as cocaine wrapped in a paper.

He was sentenced to six years for possession of meth, possession of cocaine and unlawful carrying of a handgun.
