Police: Warsaw man arrested after traveling to New York for sex with teen girl

A joint investigation by the New York State Police and Indiana State Police has led to the arrest of a 25-year-old Warsaw man on more than two dozen charges related to alleged sexual offenses against a 14-year-old girl.

The investigation began in February and ended on Wednesday with the arrest of Tyler Harmon.

Investigators say Harmon contacted his victim through social media, such as Snapchat, and traveled to New York on at least three occasions to meet with the girl for illicit activity.

Warren was taken to the Kosciusko County Jail and is awaiting extradition to Warren County, New York.

A joint investigation between the New York State Police and the Indiana State Police has landed a Warsaw, IN man in jail on twenty-seven charges after he is alleged to have traveled from Indiana to New York to engage in sexual activity with a female juvenile.

This investigation, which began in February of this year, culminated with troopers and detectives with the Indiana State Police serving an arrest warrant at a residence located at 6515 W CR550 N Warsaw, IN at 10:30 a.m. on October 15, 2024.  Detectives arrested Tyler Harmon, 25, on twenty-seven charges to include 5 counts of Sexually Motivated Felony, Class B, and 9 counts of Rape in the Third Degree.  These charges are a result of a New York State Police investigation that began in Warren County, NY after Harmon is alleged to have contacted a 14-year-old juvenile female via social media platforms Omegle and Snapchat.  Harmon is alleged to have traveled to New York to meet this juvenile on three occasions over the course of a year to engage in sexual activity. 

Harmon was taken into custody at his residence without incident this morning and transported to the Kosciusko County Jail where he awaits extradition to Warren County New York.
