An Elkhart teenager has pleaded guilty to armed robbery.
Reports say a victim told police a man followed him as he returned to his car at the Marathon Gas Station in Elkhart shortly before midnight on December 23.
The suspect reportedly asked the victim for a dollar, which the victim gave, but then he allegedly pulled out a handgun and demanded his wallet.
17-year-old Dakevion Spearmon was identified through store security footage.
The Goshen News says a group of young men who had been together had surrounded the area and left toward the apartment complex where police located them.
They say Spearmon was reportedly found with the victim’s credit card, ID card and a gift card with the victim’s name on it.
