Homeless man sentenced to 180 days for breaking into Niles YMCA

A 66-year-old homeless man has been sentenced to 180 days in jail in Berrien County for breaking into the Niles YMCA and a parked car.
Michael Robert Hemminger pleaded guilty to breaking and entering with intent to steal. He also received time served for disorderly conduct and breaking into a vehicle.
The incident took place in early July at the Niles YMCA.
Leader Publications reports Hemminger had been sentenced in April for a similar break-in at the First Presbyterian Church in Niles in May of last year.
