A coroner’s report says a former North Dakota deputy attorney general died of alcohol abuse in South Bend.
The coroner in St. Joseph County, Indiana says Troy Seibel died in South Bend on September 3rd from “complications of chronic ethanol abuse.”
Seibel had worked under former attorney general Wayne Stenehjem, and resigned after Stenehjem died in 2022.
It was later discovered that Seibel had deleted Stenehjem’s emails just days after his death, which led to an investigation, though there was not enough evidence to warrant criminal charges.
