Madison County Prosecutor Rodney Cummings described a recent ballot theft as an attempt to damage public trust in elections. Surveillance footage from the Oct. 3 public test of voting machines shows Larry Savage taking two test ballots and putting them in his pocket.
“The worst problem is he gets on his Facebook live and his website that they have,” Cummings said. “It’s called Madison County Integrity.”
Savage posted on Facebook live, saying “3 ballots short, lol.”
These ballots, marked with all candidate combinations, were meant to ensure proper machine function.
“The ballots weren’t there because he took them himself,” Cummings said.
He also says Savage creates a made up controversy to lose trust in the election process.
Savage was one of the several candidates who ran unsuccessfully against the U.S. Representative Victoria Spartz in the Republican primary this May.
