Elkhart Police detain suspect after shooting at River Run Apartments

Elkhart Police have detained a man in connection with a non-fatal shooting at River Run Apartments.

The Elkhart City 911 Communications Center received an emergency call just after 4 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 5, regarding a shooting in the 300 block of Middlebury Street. Officers and medics arrived to find a man suffering from gunshot wounds. The victim was treated at the scene and then taken to the hospital with injuries that are not considered life-threatening.

Shortly afterward, police were called to the 700 block of Monroe Street where they found a second man with a gunshot wound. Medics provided first aid, and he was also transported for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Following their investigation, officers detained a male suspect connected to the shootings.
