A man accused of robbing an Elkhart gas station appeared in court last week.

45-year-old Adam Hoopingarner is believed to have robbed the Phillips 66 on South Main St. in September.

Police were called for the robbery in progress where they were told that a man threatened the cashier with a long rifle.

The Goshen News says the suspect allegedly threatened to kill the attendants and claimed that he had killed someone before.

Surveillance footage was released, and the suspect was identified as Hoopingarner.

He was detained on September 22, and his jury trial is set for March 3.
