Indiana’s U.S. Senator-Elect Jim Banks praised President-Elect Donald Trump’s decision to appoint Susie Wiles as Chief of Staff, calling it a powerful message to Americans.
“As a father of three daughters, I think it’s an incredible statement for Donald Trump to pick the first female White House Chief of Staff in U.S. history,” said Banks.
Mark Cuban, who supported Vice President Kamala Harris during the election, previously said on The View that Trump did not surround himself with “strong, intelligent women.” He later apologized for the remarks.
Trump, in a statement, highlighted Wiles’ contributions: “Susie Wiles just helped me achieve one of the greatest political victories in American history and was a key part of my successful 2016 and 2020 campaigns.”
Banks stressed Wiles’ readiness for the role. “She’s tough as nails and has been working closely with Trump during his four years out of office,” Banks said. “He couldn’t have picked a better Chief of Staff.”
