A man is dead following a police shooting in Gary, Indiana.
Authorities say officers were conducting an undercover operation yesterday in the 3400 block of Maryland Street when a man tried to rob an undercover officer and attacked him with a machete-style weapon.
Another officer shot the suspect, identified as Shahaud Richmond. He was pronounced dead at the hospital.
The operation was part of an investigation into a string of robberies stemming from fake social media marketplace sales.
