A former Noodles & Co. employee is accused of burglarizing the Elkhart restaurant.

Police say they were called in May after the store’s manager noted the office desk computer had been disturbed and a blue cash bag was missing from the safe.

Surveillance showed the suspect wearing gloves, and the manager claimed other indicators of the footage made her believe the culprit was Fabian Martinez Jr., a former employee.

The manager told officials that Martinez had a key, knew the alarm system passcode and knew the safe passcode.

Martinez allegedly told police that he turned in his key, but The Goshen News says he did not mention that a spare key was not returned.

His trial is set for April 7.
