Juvenile in custody after incident involving possible firearm at Elkhart Academy

A 14-year-old student was taken into custody at Elkhart Academy following an investigation into a potential firearm-related incident.

According to authorities, school staff and a police officer were conducting an investigation at approximately 10 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 25, at the school, located at 1 Blazer Blvd. During the inquiry, the juvenile allegedly resisted law enforcement, resulting in an injury, and made threats of intimidation.

The student was taken into custody and transported to the Elkhart County Juvenile Detention Center.
