The Michiana Humane Society, based in Michigan City, is offering temporary adoptions from Wednesday to Monday to give pets and staff a break.
Families can take home bunnies, dogs, or cats by 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 27. The Humane Society will provide food, beds, and supplies — families just need to provide shelter and love.
They say temporary stays reduce stress for pets, with studies showing cortisol levels remain low even after they return.
