A Winter Storm Warning is in effect for St. Joseph County in Indiana and Berrien and Cass Counties in Michigan. A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for LaPorte, Elkhart and St. Joseph County in Michigan from 3 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 2, until 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 3.
Heavy lake effect will set up late Monday and last through Monday night. During this time, portions of Michiana could see 4-8 inches of snow or more, depending on where the bands wobble. The higher snow totals are expected in Michigan. This will likely slow your Tuesday morning commute.
We’ll warm to above freezing Wednesday, but a system will come through and give us the chance for rain and snow showers. At this time, forecast models do not have a great handling on how much rain vs. how much snow we will end up seeing.
Heading into later in the week, we sink back below the freezing mark for highs with snow showers staying a possibility.
