An investigation is underway after a vandalism incident at a Michigan City church.

The incident happened over the Thanksgiving holiday at St. Mary the Immaculate Conception Church.

Damages were found on Thanksgiving morning, ranging from broken stained-glass windows and doors, to a more than 100-year-old Saint Joseph statue shattered to pieces.

WSBT says repairs are estimated to cost between 20 and 40 thousand dollars.

Associate Pastor Zach Glick says he knows the damage could have been worse and is willing to forgive whoever is responsible, stating that he is praying that they can find peace and healing in their life. Michigan City Police are still investigating the incident.
