Study looks at South Bend, Mishawaka credit card users for upcoming holiday spending

Holiday spending is expected to push the nation’s household credit card debt of $1.17 trillion even higher, putting cardholders at higher risk of falling behind on their payments.

A new report from consumer resource Upgraded Points breaks down credit card delinquency rates at a local level. For the South Bend-Mishawaka metro area, 12.9% of cardholders had severely delinquent debt, meaning they were 90 or more days overdue.

The average credit card debt in the metro was $5499, and 28.1% of our cardholders use more than 75% of their total credit, which can hurt credit scores.

The full report also includes several interactive charts and tables, and can be found at  https://upgradedpoints.com/news/credit-card-delinquency-rates-by-city/
