Amazon Web Services is upgrading its global data centers, including a $11 billion project in St. Joseph County.
WSBT-TV reports the upgrades will enhance efficiency and integrate AI, featuring liquid cooling to cut energy use.
Officials say these changes will make data centers more sustainable. Nine of the 30 planned buildings are complete, with some set to open in 2025.
AWS research shows its data centers operate up to 4.1 times more efficiently than on-site systems, with optimized workloads slashing carbon footprints by up to 99%.
