35-year-old Joseph Traver of Mishawaka was sentenced to 12 months in prison followed by two years of supervised release this week after pleading guilty to bank fraud and possession of stolen mail.

Documents say he stole mail out of collection boxes and intercepted checks that had been mailed from the Osceola Post Office.

They say there were at least three identified victims, and he also altered one check from the stolen mail and fraudulently deposited it at a financial institution.
