Over 12,000 points of chicken has been donated to the Food Bank of Northern Indiana.

A partnership between Martin’s Super Markets and Goshen-based Miller Poultry is helping provide protein to those in the community facing food insecurity.

Area pantries have reported a 12 percent increase in households served, bringing an increased need for donations.

Those at the Food Bank say chicken continues to be a luxury item at food pantries but brings an excellent source of protein to those who need it most.

Chris Haygood from Martin’s Super Markets says they are committed to helping make the holiday season a little brighter for families in need.
