You may have heard that a $1 million Lottery ticket was going to expire Thursday. Well, with just hours to spare, a Kendallville couple claimed the prize in Indianapolis.

The winning ticket had matched “all five white balls” in the June 29th drawing. So, why had it not been claimed?

Well, the two told the Hoosier Lottery that they found it stuck between their car seats on Christmas morning. They explained that they had previously tried – and failed – to find it.

But, as they continued seeing reports of an unclaimed, million-dollar ticket, they decided to search their car once more. This time, their search was successful.

The couple called it “an emotional day.”
