Mishawaka man killed in crash on Inwood Road

St. Joseph County Police were dispatched at approximately 11:20 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 28,  to a report of single vehicle crash on Inwood Road, a few hundred feet east of Hickory Road.

Officers arrived to find a Ford sedan which had left the roadway at a high rate of speeding continuing eastbound approximately 300 feet through a wooded area and striking multiple trees before coming to a stop.
The driver of the sedan was pronounced dead on scene by first arriving medical personnel, there were no passengers.
The driver has been identified as Hetherwick Malcom Kamwendo,  33, of Mishawaka.
There were no initial signs of intoxication or impairment, speed is initially believed to be a primary factor in the crash.
