Police have charged Miguel Garcia, 21, with murder in the death of his girlfriend’s 20-month-old toddler.

It was back on Dec. 16, that authorities say Garcia brought the child to Elkhart General Hospital, claiming the toddler had fallen on hardwood floors days earlier.

Doctors determined the injuries, including a skull fracture, were consistent with abuse.

Investigators searched Garcia’s phone and found videos from Dec. 16 showing the toddler healthy at 4:25 p.m. but in visible distress by 5:44 p.m.

The child died on December 20.
