A New Jersey man was sentenced in U.S. District Court in South Bend to 78 months in federal prison followed by four years of supervised release for cocaine trafficking.
Court documents revealed that in December 2023, Juan Aquino, 53, was stopped on the Indiana Toll Road while transporting four kilograms of cocaine concealed in hidden compartments of his vehicle. The drugs had been obtained in Colorado and were enroute to New Jersey.
At the time of his arrest, Aquino was already awaiting the start of a 63-month federal prison sentence for distributing and conspiring to distribute fentanyl.
