Three Elkhart firefighters suffered non-life-threatening injuries while battling a blaze at a home in the 1500 block of Lawndale Road.

The fire happened Tuesday morning, Jan. 28.

Crews arrived to find heavy smoke and fire pouring from the back of the house which spread to every room.

The homeowner got out safely before crews got there.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
