18-year-old arrested following injury shooting

Elkhart Police have arrested an 18 year old man in the injury shooting of a 15 year old boy.
It was around 8:45 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 9, when police learned of the shooting in the 1200 block of Mason St.
Upon arrival, officers located a 15-year-old boy with apparent gunshot wounds in the area of Fremont Street and Hudson Street. Officers rendered first aid until medics arrived.
Medics transported the victim to the hospital for evaluation and treatment of what were believed to be non-life-threatening injuries.
During the investigation, officers located the suspect inside a home in the 1200 block of Mason St. The suspect was arrested and booked into the Elkhart County Jail in connection with this incident.
The case has been forwarded to the Elkhart County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for review of formal criminal charges.
