Makai Boyce, 19, of Mishawaka, was sentenced in U.S. District Court in South Bend after pleading guilty to possessing a machine gun.
Boyce was sentenced to 75 months in prison followed by 2 years of supervised release.
According to documents in the case, in December 2023, Boyce possessed a stolen handgun with an extended magazine and a machine gun conversion device, or “switch,” capable of firing multiple bullets automatically.
Boyce fired the machine gun and struck an occupied home.
Two days later, he led police on a lengthy foot chase during which he discarded the weapon in a backyard dog house surrounded by children’s toys.

I guess we’ll be seeing his name again in a few years.
When are they going to follow the Heller decision and admit that those devices are protected because they are in “common use”?
