Penn Harris Madison Schools experiencing ransomware cyber-breach

I.T. specialists with Penn-Harris-Madison Schools are working with cybersecurity experts after an apparent network breach from an external source involving ransomware.  That was the message texted to parents on Monday, March 3.

As a precaution, all desktop computers in the schools have been shut down. Officials have stated that students’ Chromebooks, laptops, phones, tablets, Wi-Fi, and cloud-based apps are safe to use. It appears some classroom work is being disrupted, according to at least one account from a PHM student who sent this text to their parent:
