A woman has been arrested after allegedly stabbing her husband during an argument at a Michigan City motel.

LaPorte County Sheriff’s deputies were called just before 5 a.m. on Thursday, March 6, to Franciscan Health Hospital in Michigan City, where a 35-year-old man had arrived with a stab wound to his upper torso.

The victim told deputies the incident occurred inside a room at the Dunes Inn on North Frontage Road during a dispute with his wife, 30-year-old Heather Kist.

Based on initial findings, the LaPorte County Prosecutor’s Office secured an arrest warrant for Kist on a charge of Aggravated Battery.

Detectives launched an investigation, and a specialized fugitive apprehension team was deployed to locate Kist.

Kist found at a hotel in Knox, Indiana, and taken into custody. She remains at the La Porte County Jail on a $25,000 cash-only bond.
