Middlebury man injured in single-vehicle crash on County Road 4

A 62-year-old Middlebury man sustained severe head injuries after crashing his vehicle into a tree on County Road 4.
According to authorities, the man was driving eastbound in a Hyundai Santa Fe when he veered off the roadway and struck a tree in front of a home in the 10900 block of County Road 4.
The crash, reported just after 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 13, caused heavy front-end damage to the vehicle.
The driver, who was not wearing a seatbelt, suffered a severe forehead laceration with significant bleeding.
First responders transported him to Memorial Hospital in South Bend with apparent life-threatening injuries.
